Consignor Drop-Off
Over the years, Sail Again Children’s Consignment has continued to refine the check-in (also called drop-off) process to make it as streamlined and efficient as possible. By reading the information below and understanding how the process works, you should have a better understanding of what to expect when you reach the venue.
What to bring:
NEWish: Do you have “easy to pick up” items (like electronics, strollers, car seats with handles, diaper bags or purses) that are priced over $15? Consider requesting a security tag for these items at the desk!
No need to print or sign your consignor agreement- you will sign a Drop-Off form on site. (READ it first though—ok?!)
Please have clothes sorted by size and gender category. IE . . .Girls Bottoms size 2T together, Boys Pajamas size 6 together this is a little tweak/suggestion that will make putting your items out lots easier for you! (Note: we updated the clothing categories in the system to make it easier for you when tagging! You can list most items under just “Girls Clothing or Boys Clothing without having to specify Bottoms or Tops or Dress but we will still hang them that way in the store! It speeds your drop off process at the venue if you separate them that way ahead of time. You may band sizes together to make it easier for you at drop-off but please remove them before delivering your items to the size rack. This small step helps expedite the process. Thank you.
Please have electronics, swim wear (in spring) and coats/outerwear (in fall) and costumes sorted separately. NEW: We now place boutique items in the size racks. Years of sales data shows that it sells better here! You may still label it in the Boutique Category. (because there is always the chance that we will pull it out to a special rack if sell through warrants it!)
Everyone needs to make a scheduled appointment. Please note appointments are on a first come first serve basis. Once all appointments have been taken we will be unable to add additional times. If you arrive more than 15 minutes before or after your scheduled appointment time, we will be able to serve you at check-in; however your wait time WILL be longer.
DROP Off is aT Charles Mack off Moore St on the side of the building:
1. Price & Tag your stuff at home. Brutally inspect it for stains and wear!
2. Load up your car. Separate your clothes by gender, size and category (tops, bottoms, outfits, other) Separate toys & other items by category (basically you will place like items with like item on the floor, so it helps to group them that way in your car)
3. Arrive at your appointment time at the corner of Church St and Moore Avenue. Make the turn from Church onto Moore and proceed up the hill toward Main St.
4. If all goes to plan we will unload 6-8 cars at a time that are lined up in the bus lane/loading area. Sail Staff will assist you in unloading your car from the passenger side/trunk. In a perfect world, you should be back in your car in 7 minutes or less. It's like elementary school carpool meets Chick-fil-A, except without the kids and chicken nuggets. BONUS! Sail Staff will take your items inside and assist with larger items.
5. Hop back in and be ready for the line of cars to move! Now, park your car (unless you are Drop & Go/Express/$25 drop-off. In that case you are done and you can drive away! ) and return inside to put out your items.
6. Return inside through the FRONT entrance. Check in at the desk. Check in at the desk. Check in at the desk. Did we mention that you should check in at the desk?
7. Sign your drop-off form & receive your shopping passes and then place all of your CLOTHING and NON-CLOTHING items in their designated spots. There will be a map to help. The “placing” part should take you less than 30 minutes.
8. Take a photo of your shopping pass. Grab some flyers & yard signs for preschools/ daycares/neighborhoods/etc. Our photographer will work with you to get a photo WITH the items you're dropping off and our photo props. You will want to post this on social in order to earn an extra %, get earlier shopping, and maybe earn 100% of your sales.
9. Note: If you don’t put it out/set it up, we won’t sell it! It will be DONATED to charity.
10. Please be sure that you distribute the appropriate items to the Outerwear, Swimwear, and Costume/Dress-Up sections of the sale:
11. Hang your clothes on a rack by size and gender category. Super important: this is the time to re-inspect them for stains and quality! You will be fined $1 from your proceeds for any item that we pull from the rack, and fines double if you have more than 5, but if you find it yourself, you can just take it on home! And yes, sure, you can skip this step if you know you checked your items well at home already . . . (but you are risking big fines if we find stuff after you leave) Now, quickly place them by size where instructed and you are done!
12. Return your map and head on back to your car. See you for shopping!
Lucky 13: PRO TIP: Once you get to your car and before you leave your parking spot . . .text that Friends of Consignors pass to at least 10 people. If you did not already post to Instagram or Facebook . . .do that now! Not kidding! One of our rockstar sellers earned an extra 17% of sales (from 65 to 82%!) by inviting shoppers.
